Getting my geek on with design

Reports and information brochures don't need to be dry and lifeless...

There are so many ways to engage your reader and one of the ways is to get these types of documents designed by a lovely designer... This could even be me :) Getting a designer to break down the copy into smaller sections can help with the flow for the reader, this is something I have come to love to do! Geeky I know! It honestly makes me so happy knowing that a piece of information is visually appealing. It is ultimately a designers job to make the document communicate the best way it can, making the reader want to read the information presented in front of them. This can be done by working out what areas can be highlighted to draw your eye in or look at ways to incorporate photographs or icons to break up lots of body copy, which can be heavy going.

How I work on a project like this...

  1. When ever I am starting a project like this I always read the copy over a couple of times.

  2. Then I start under lining pieces of information that I think will work well, pulled out, enlarged or sat with an icon or image.

  3. I also spend a bit of time reading the companies website and looking at their logo, colour and shapes that can help influence the overall design.

  4. I create a quick sketch for myself so I can see how the layout can look to give me a starting point...

  5. Then the design is brought to life…
One engaging piece of content created for you or your client.
