A month in my mind... March 2022

With March we finally saw the sunshine and the temperatures rise… Where has the sun gone now! I definitely feel so much better when the sun has it’s hat on. I have sown some Cosmos seeds which I haven’t done for a couple of years and I literally feel like I have forgotten what to do!

I hope you enjoy seeing what I got up to in March 2022, with client work, my own personal work and things that have inspired me. A lot of my time between client work has been spent working on drawing more and planning more stop frame animations.

A month in my mind…
Client Work

March has been a lovely month of client work. I am extremely grateful for all the projects I get to work on. This month I have worked on a social media fundraising campaign, house particular designs, wedding anniversary postcard design, bespoke social media tiles and story designs.

Below are two pieces of client work from March.

Out of The Box Gifts

Project: Pattern Design

I lost myself in drawing leaves, branches and flowers last week, ready to send to Zoe who owns, at Out of The Box Gifts. A selection of these drawings have been chosen to create as digital illustrations, to form a pattern to be used on tissue paper. I can’t wait to start the next stage to this project.

Kat produced the most beautiful social tile design, from a very vague brief she created a lovely illustration that worked perfectly with my branding. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Illustrations (doodles), Personal Work

Ranunculus drawing

I have been blown away with the beauty of the Ranunculus flowers. I purchased a handful of plants for the garden and then saw that Petalon were selling them as cut flowers from their fields in Cornwall. I quickly ordered some and they are stunning, they have got better and better as the flowers have opened up.

This drawing was a quick doodle one afternoon. Next step create a digital drawing.

Leaning

A fab tutorial by Every Tuesday.

A month in my mind…
What makes me tick

I love keeping notes of things that excite, inspire and set my world on fire, whether thats a magazine designed beautifully, podcasts, beautiful packaging, or a colour that catches my eye.

Below are things that inspired me last month.

Left image: Studio Roof - What a wonderful Mother’s Day pressie. I love discovering cool and fun things for the house. Studio Roof create simple yet beautiful designs to be made and displayed on your walls. My set will be going in my office.

Middle image: A gorgeous quote at the Birmingham Botanic Gardens. Gardening nurtures your soul, it helped me through an extremely traumatic experience and has remained a constant source of support and comfort.

Right image: Petalon Flowers - Offers the most beautiful flowers grown in Cornwall. Below are field flowers ‘Ranunculus’ I purchased and I have been overwhelmed with their beauty.

Do you have a project in mind?

If you like what I get up to and think that I would be a good fit for your business, I would love to hear from you whether it is for Design, Illustration or GIF creations.
