A month in my mind... April 2022

With April saw the Easter Bunny finally arrive… Our daughter was very excited :) April is a lovely month with so much springing to life in the garden (ha ha excuse the pun). We managed to get away to Bude for 3 nights and stayed in a cute little pod, I can’t believe we actually got to sit on the beach. I am now the proud owner of a wetsuit and experienced my first swim in the Bude Sea Pool which was extremely liberating.

I hope you enjoy seeing what I got up to in April 2022, with client work, my own personal work and things that have inspired me.

A month in my mind…
Client Work

April has been a lovely month of client work. I am extremely grateful for all the projects I get to work on. This month I have worked on a gorgeous pattern for Out of The Box Gifts which I am hoping to share with you next month. I have also been working on a set of stories for Instagram for a garden design company.

Below are two pieces of client work from April.

Isola Garden Design

Project: Story template design

I was asked to create a set of stories for Isola’s Social Media which covered three different areas of the business.

Out of The Box Gifts

Project: Pattern Design

Showcasing how I present a selection of illustrations for my clients to choose from. Zoe chose around 5 different illustrations which I have gone onto draw up and create into the final pattern.

Kat produced the most beautiful pattern designs. They are both absolutely amazing, thank you! Again, even better than I could ever have imagined, you would not believe my squeals of excitement when they came through! I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Illustrations (doodles), Personal Work

Ranunculus drawing

After showing you my quick drawing last month having been inspired by my flowers from Petalon, here is the final illustration.

Doodle

A little doodle of where we stayed on holiday in Bude.

Leaning

Expanding my knowledge on pattern creation. I am now exploring ways to create them in Procreate.

A month in my mind…
What makes me tick

I love keeping notes of things that excite, inspire and set my world on fire, whether thats a magazine designed beautifully, podcasts, beautiful packaging, or a colour that catches my eye.

Below are things that inspired me last month.

Left image: For reflection and time away, you honestly can not beat a glorious beach sunset.

Middle image: I stumbled across Nora Van Elkin by chance when looking for music and I find it so wonderful to have on while I am working.

Right image: This pic is of the Bude Sea Pool that I swam in twice, yes twice! The first time didn’t put me off, it made me want to do it again but for longer. I am beyond proud of myself for swimming in this and I found it so incredibly liberating, I was bouncing off the walls when I got out. I can so see why this is amazing for your mental health.

Do you have a project in mind?

If you like what I get up to and think that I would be a good fit for your business, I would love to hear from you whether it is for Design, Illustration or GIF creations.
